Tori McClure is a 20 year old singer/songwriter living in Houston, Texas. She began playing the guitar at the age of ten, writing her earliest songs just a few years later. Her enthusiasm for performing and a natural inclination towards crafting infectious pop songs paved the way for the making of her EP, “Courage”, released April 14th, 2013 and is now available on iTunes! When asked how she got started, McClure muses, “I think I really came into music my junior year of high school. I had been playing guitar for 6 years, but never really thought anything of it. Once I played my first original song, “Try This Out” in my school’s talent show, I was sold. This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”
2013 is a year that won’t easily be topped for Miss McClure. She spent January recording her first album. In March she won 1st place in the Youth Division of Houston Rodeo’s: Rodeo Rockstar Competition. After submitting an audition video to Houston Rodeo’s website, her video earned enough online votes to carry her to the next round. She had to pass through the semi-final, and final rounds, performing live each time, before being awarded this honor. Her debut album was released in April and she graduated high school in May!
This is just the beginning for Tori McClure. She is writing more songs, performing new covers, and working on her first music video. While there are no immediate tour plans, you can expect to find her playing lots of shows in the Houston area.
